I just had a look at my last post; it was written just after I ran my half-marathon back in March 2013. Yikes.
It has been much too long.
I am at a new school now in Singapore; we are really loving it here. There’s a lot of greenery, clean air, parks, outdoor activities, etc. In essence, it is perfect for family living. Our condo is directly across the street from a reservoir which, thankfully, has a running track surrounding it. The perimeter is 5K, so it’s perfect for a runner like me. This year, my running goal is to break the 30 min mark for my 5K. So far, I am on track (no pun intended). My plan is to run 6 times per week, with a long run on the weekend. During the week, I run 5K each day, but on the weekend, I am increasing my mileage by 1K each week. This past weekend, I ran 7K at a pace of 6:24/km. Not bad…not bad at all.
One of my other goals is to lose 1 pound per week. I am using the Lose It! app to keep track of all my calories (expended and consumed). So far, I have lost 3 pounds in total. It helps to have an app to track what you’re eating and how many calories you’re taking in. It also helps to have a friend with which you can do this program. I’m not going to mention any names, but suffice it to say, it’s easy to stay on track when you are accountable to someone else!
I don’t have much else to say right now, dear readers. I am still busy with work and family, but I am happy. I hope 2014 brings happiness to you, too.
