I’m seriously considering taking swimming lessons this summer. Anyone know of a good program in the Hamilton area?

I haven’t been running since last Tuesday and let me tell you, I’m dying to get out there! I think tomorrow might be my day. My foot still hurts, yes, but not as much as before. I am going to really stretch it out tonight and ice it before bed; hopefully that will make me ready for tomorrow. Just a simple 4K run, I promise.

Today we went over to the pool; it was freakishly hot out so jumping into the cool water felt amazing. OK, when I say “cool” I really mean 31C…kinda like bath water. Whatevs, it still felt better being in there than out walking about. As Adam was playing with Ella, I decided to swim laps. Holy crap!! Swimming laps is so much harder than running! Clearly I was using muscles I don’t normally use when running. I swam a few laps (maybe 6?) but then that was enough. I was a-wheezin’ and a-heavin’…I felt like I had run for miles!! The rest of the time I just enjoyed playing in the pool with my girl. It was great!

So tomorrow morning I will get up early and try my run. We’ll see how it goes. Wish me luck! 🙂
