Coney-coney-cone-cone!

Yesterday was my first Tyrannical Tuesday workout since before the break. Man, it was a good one!

Brendan called it “Up and Down the River.”

He had five rows of cones set up (twenty cones in total); each cone was just a little further away than the last one. I’ll try to recreate a visual here:

cone          cone          cone          cone          cone

cone          cone          cone          cone          cone

cone          cone          cone          cone          cone

cone          cone          cone          cone          cone

OK, so I’m not an artist, but you kinda get the gist of it, right?

So we started at the first row (obviously) and ran to the first cone, performed two squats, then ran to the next cone, performed two squats, and so on until we got to the end of the row. Then we sprinted down the first row to the beginning of the second row and did the same thing…second row, third, fourth, and fifth.

OK, that was move number one.

This circuit continued with various moves: pushups, medicine ball slams (yes, we had to carry it with us the whole way), barbell squat and press (again, carrying it with us), crunches, burpees (my fave), medicine ball swings, plank-touch…I can’t even remember all the moves.

Suffice it to say, we did this for an hour. Egads…

But I felt great afterward. Now I’m looking forward to another 9K run this afternoon.
