Got my running partner back, and after the stressful day I had, it was good to run with someone and bitch about stuff. Seriously, dear reader, running makes everything feel so much easier. When I run, I can feel the stress cancer melt away from my shoulders, the pit of my stomach, everything. It just puts things into perspective. I think this is known as “runner’s high.” Who needs drugs when I’ve got a track and a running buddy??
Cynthia and I are training for a 10K that is taking place at the end of April. We have decided to increase our mileage (kilometerage? I’m an English teacher, so I’m pretty sure that’s not a word…) by one kilometer each week. This week: seven. Next week: eight. You see where this is going, right? If you are interested in joining us, check out the Dubai Running website for information and registration.
I got an email today from a former student who said that my blog has motivated her to register for a half-marathon! I feel so honored and so proud!! She is a seasoned runner so I know she will totally rock it! Life is funny…I guess I never realized how much my words or my experiences impacted or influenced others; to be honest, I started this blog for selfish reasons: to lose weight. However, reading some of your comments, messages, and emails has made me appreciate what I do on a different level. For that, I am truly thankful to all of you! 🙂
