Yesterday, I ran in search of that elusive pot o’gold; I chased after that leprechaun, but I just missed him.
10K represents the leprechaun. I will catch him soon…very soon, whether it’s St. Patrick’s Day or not!
It was a hot weekend here, my friends…very hot. I waited until nearly 6pm before I went for my run, and it was still hot! It’s funny how it sometimes takes a while to get into a comfortable stride. My husband and I were talking about this the other day, and then I noticed that one of my friends posted the same thing on her Facebook page. What I mean by this is that it usually takes me about 2-3K before I get into my groove (so to speak). Once I get past that, the running feels effortless. My pace is good, my arms are swinging, my legs feel strong; sometimes, I even feel like I could go on forever! Does anyone else feel this way?
Yesterday I ran a very comfy 6K (no stopping or walking, thank-you-very-much). I am now looking forward to training for my 10K. Tonight I will go home and download a 10K training podcast. I will run beyond what it suggests, of course, but I like having it on my phone as a back-up. Not sure why, but I’m super-stoked about this. I hope we don’t get hit with that nasty sandstorm that’s moving across the Middle East right now; I’d like to get in another run tomorrow. 🙂
