There, that should already have you intrigued. My Tuesday workout was called “Fast Track.” Brendan asked if I was up for some track work. “Sure,” I replied, “I’d love to be outside!” Of course, I never once thought I would be alone…there’s usually at least one other
victim person working out with me.
Well, I was wrong. 😦
It was just me and Brendan…alone…doing “Fast Track.”
Do you know what “Fast Track” is? Let me break it down for you:
1. Sprint 200m
2. Twenty pushups
3. Thirty second stretch
4. Sprint 200m
5. Forty squats
6. Thirty second stretch
…and so on and so forth.
For an hour.
At one point I remember saying, “My legs feel like rubber,” and Brendan responded with, “Yeah, feels good, doesn’t it?”
Does he not know what rubber feels like? (please, no puns…)
It was a brutal, brutal leg and cardio workout. But for all my sweat and tears, I still thought it was awesome. In fact, it was at the end of that workout that I decided I would run the 10K on the weekend.
Alas, it was not meant to be.
When I tried to register the next day, I discovered that registration had closed three days ago.
Something good did come of it, though. I registered with Premier Marathons here in Dubai; they will send me an email with information about any upcoming races. I am determined to run a 10K before the school year is over. Training begins now.
