I decided to start my 8K training today. I downloaded an app that takes me through 10 weeks of running; I used it yesterday when I went for my run. I’ve run a 10K before (in Kuwait, of all places!) but since then, I’ve not really done any distance running. I’d like to get back into that. I think this app will help me to achieve my goal.
I’m continuing to use Daily Burn; I’ve become really conscious of what I eat because I know I have to add it to my tracker. Like last night, Ella wanted spaghetti for dinner; usually, I’m fine with this (who doesn’t love a big bowl of pasta smothered in sauce??), but I knew that if I had carbs, it would throw me off. So, I did what I had to do: I made spaghetti for my family and menemen for me (it’s a Turkish dish…check it out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menemen_(food) ). This is a dish that’s typically served at breakfast (my mum makes it for me when we stay at her place in the summer), but I see no reason why I can’t also have it for dinner! No carbs, lots of veggies, and some protein to boot…perfect!
Soon after dinner I brushed my teeth; this usually prevents me from eating anything else before bed because I’m too lazy to brush my teeth again. It worked! I’ll tell you, though, I’d love to just chow down on some chips and beer…*sigh!*
Finally, just before bed, I completed my daily push up routine (see previous post for more details). Today I performed 55 push ups: 11, 13, 9, 9, 13. I’ll do them, but I still hate them…
