It was another gorgeous day here in Dubai. As previously posted, I had brought my workout gear to school today, knowing that I would at least go for a run after school. I got some much-needed work done, then around 4:30 or so, I stepped outside into a glorious, blustery late afternoon. Nothing feels better than running against a light breeze. If the weather was like this all year long, I would be so happy.
Another reason why I like to run is because it is the best of all stress relievers. I’ve been experiencing some anxiety, some tension lately (nothing serious, thank goodness!); however, I find that once I am on the track (or at the park) and I start running, that anxiety, that tension quickly dissipates. I’m so busy concentrating on my breathing, on my pace, and on my time that I don’t have the chance to think about anything else. I don’t usually listen to music when I run, either, which means I can enjoy the scenery and focus on my surroundings. Having said that, a former student of mine (thanks, Zain!) sent me a wicked playlist…I may just have to incorporate that into my routine!
